The demand for medical plastic parts is rising

As shown in a newly market research by Transparency Market Research, during 2012-2018, global demand for medical polymer material will increase with 5.6% compound annual growth rate. At the same stage, the industry revenue will increase in rapid speed, and estimate to increase with 8.4% compound annual growth rate. Aging of population is the main driving factor, as reported, by 2050, over 16% world people will be above 66 years old.

In 2011, the market value for medical polymer material was 8.4 billion US dollars, with demand of 4.391 million tons. By 2018, the demand is estimated to reach 6.4117 million tons. With the degree of aging population strengthen, demand potential for disposable medical apparatus rises, majority of medical plastic production will be applied in this market.

"Since low cost and optimum property of polymer material, it's more and more widely used in disposable medical apparatus. Family health care directly influence sales status of disposable medical apparatus", quoted from the report, "the trendency is also advantageous to develop and utilize biodegradable plastics, biodegradable plastics is one of main features for medical plastics". According to Transparency, based on responsibility fro medical health care market development, and combined with weak status of human body implants, druing 2012-2018, biodegradable plastics will increase in index.
